It was founded to help women who work in non-traditional careers, and we're not sure of how to advertise. We can't seem to find bulletin boards in the local markets these days.

Thanks for your help!

A few ideas:

1) Flyers & Business Cards - Who are your customers & where do they shop (e.g. grocery, home improvement stores, etc)? Post flyers where your customers frequent.

2) Advertise Locally -- Newspapers, Magazines

3) Word of Mouth -- Offer a great service & people will talk.

4) Mailers -- Send out coupons, specials, etc.

5) Past Clients -- Perhaps offer a discount on services if they refer a friend

You mentioned non-traditional careers -- perhaps look for associations in those fields.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

I own a business and my target customers are different, but the
bullitin board thing never reall works....my best leads come from
direct mail ...find out what zip codes your potential customers live in and mail to those zips only. Another way is to try for some free press, do something for your customers that will generate someones intrest in an interview or even just to get your business name mentioned or printed in any type of press, if none of these fit what may be possible for what your business does
there are always other ways, make banners and place them in the highest visibility areas you can find same with small sighns
. If you dont have much start up money, and if you were trying to put up flyers on bullitin boards, iassume you dont ...try...really try to spend/find some money for some type of traditional advertising
as i said ,the cost per thousand is best in direct mail especially if you choose your zip codes well,a small loscl/surbaban newspaper also has very good bang for the buck....hope this helps...its what i used when i started up , it brought me the initial business and now i dont do any ads as all my business comes from word of mouth

Local press releases work well; however, you need to have something worthwhile to release. It looks as though your organization has a lot of good stuff going on. I'd call the local papers to see if they may be interested in something you have going on. Otherwise, Do something for the community and give a press release informing local papers of your plans, who, what, where, when, and why. Don't forget to invite the community to come show their support or participate. Good Luck. I've found this is the best type of marketing next to word of mouth. And it's cheap.

Good Luck
