1. "Bonjour" (formal), "Salut" (with friends).
2. We shake hands (formal) or we embraces oneself (kiss on the cheek) : inside the members of one family or a person with whom you feel intimate. So nothing too much different than other occidental countries.
3. In general, I would say that French people appreciate Australia that represents for them a large country with beautiful landscapes, wild lands and funny surfers (that is the common stereotype). So it is positive.
4. (to resume) You know the famous "Liberté, égalité, fraternité", it means "Freedom, equality, fraternity". Means we consider that people can do whatever they want if it doesn't impede the freedom of another person or group. Commonly France is considered as a "terre d'accueil" ("welcoming land" : for foreigners, specially coming from north Africa because of the links France has had with North Africa for many time). Fraternité... French are well know for their chauvinism (we are all brothers under the same flag...). It should be a little moderated but that is the tendency.
With more than 46 millions catholics, France is with Italy (56 millions) the most catholic country in Europe (and one of the country that counts the biggest number of catholics in the world, USA have around 63 millions catholics to give an idea). However there are many differents religions in France ("liberté de culte").
5 ; Sorry I don't understand the fifth question. I try however : French people communicate with phone, mobile phone, fax, mail, internet. We had a little particularity before internet came : it was called "minitel" (the ancestor of Internet, but local, only used in France). The sites were not called "www..." but "3615...". For example if you needed to go to the site of your post office, you typed "3615 LA POSTE". Hope I answered the way you needed and that you understand (the spelling checker doesn't work anymore...).
