Israel is a democracy amongst countries ruled by tyrannical regimes up until the 1970's. We supported them whole heartily in an effort to have an ally in an extremely strategic area in the world. We initiated there conception for this reason under the cloak of returning them to their promised land. Our support of a democracy in such an environment also helped win the cold war. It made it more difficult for the Soviets to spread into Afghanistan, Iran ,and Iraq. Israel will continue to be used as our pawn. Just as the poor Palestinian people have been used as pawns by Middle Eastern countries to incite war against and eliminate Israel. This is the crux of the terrorist problem today. If we don't let Israel root out the terrorist than what are we saying about our own resolve on the war on terror?

It would be a big strategic advantage for the US to make Israel a state, but it requires a majority vote by the population of the territory that wants to be a state and I don't think any effort is underway in Israel to become a state.

The advantages to the USA would be huge since any action against our 51st state would be an act of war against the entire USA and we could end this Middle East Crisis thing for good.

you know what... Israel is just a small country, and besides and it is smaller than New York City is... In connection with this the U.S. Government will not go to Israel to fight and make it it's 51st State.... in the reason, Israel is also one of world who makes nuclear bombs and if the small country of Israel losses the fight they not called yet as lossers because as what i have said it owns nuclear bombs when the U.S. attacks them then they would attack U.S. too, attack by nuclear bomb. not just one but more than one or hundreds of them... U.S. Government only destroy half of New York but or maybe a fourth of it... If Israel Uses the Nuclear bombs it will destroy more than one - fourth of the U.S. teretory...

Wish an invisible anonymous army goes to US - fires and carpet bombs the **** of the Americans especially the politicians- and just create a mess - make them suck- like they did in Iraq- Lebanon and Afghanistan.
