He's just a very misguided person with a microphone. I don't hear him calling for the destruction of Israel.
Aren't people like the President of Iran and the head of Hezbollah the real threats?
I don't think that Mel Gibson is a "hater". I think he is confused.

No, you are not the only person to think like that "JeffG"....

There are a couple of us around who have not yet lost all sense of proportion, but we appear to be getting rarer every day!

Mel Gibson said something bad when he was REALLY drunk. Its a problem especially with people who have to live everyday under a microscope and after a lot of drinks, the pressure blows and God knows whats going to come out. Unfortunately like Mel Gibson I've been there and like Mel, I've felt sick to my stomach at what I said while I was totally drunk. My solution is to drink less, NEVER drive and avoid all confrontational situations even after a couple......

Mel Gibson's father is an anti-Semitic fruitcake. That is where it comes from. Mel is not like that but has a huge conflict because of course like any decent person, he loves his father. Add in 16 martinis and voila!

Adolf Hitler was a racist murderer who butchered 8 million people in Death Camps and another 55 million in his war of conquest. See the difference? Drunk celebrity verses world's worst mass-murderer.

It sounds stupid but there actually are people who CAN'T see that. In any rational society they would be considered to be IDIOTS!

See, as usual, people are not getting the entire story. The man made a movie about Christ and was withstood by the Jewish powers dominating Hollywood. The man lived under extreme stress because he made a movie about Christ. Why? Cause Jews hate Christianity. See, the bigotry started there, with Jewish hatred. Who are they to try and stop or pressure Mel for making a movie about Christ? They did just that. It was they who started the stress on his life. That stress was building up and hurting his career in a city dominated by Jews. When he got drunk, all of that stress just poured on out.

How does Hollywood become dominated by Jews? Who gets a movie? Who gets a promo? Who gets advanced? Why so many Jewish actors getting jobs? Are Jews promoting Jews, to the hurt of other non-Jews? Why am I anti-Semitic for pointing out bigotry?

Mel was not an anti-Semite. If he is now, surely, it's the Jews doing. How is a man supposed to respond to pressure like that? Except to hate them. (and still Mel doesn't hate them) And again, why do Jewish people have such a dominating stronghold over all the media and so many other areas of our lives?

Gibson was confused--anyone who gets drunk is.

My guess: Gibson likely heard a remark about Jews starting all wars, and pondered aloud his thoughts to the friendly cop who pulled him over. But he did it nonetheless and being a celeb doesn't help, either.

The Jewish anger over this is overkill; these people need a life and to chill. After all, isn't compassion and forgiveness part of the Jewish doxology? Well, I'm NOT seeing THAT from them.

I agree. He was drunk and the cop that arrested him was Jewish. He was mad about being arrested. When your aggitated AND drunk you are not yourself. So, he probably noticed the policeman's name was Jewish and since he was upset he was just trying to find a way to hurt his feelings. So, he knew that kind of name calling would be hurtful. The real issue is he was DUI. And if he genuinely doesn't like Jews (which I doubt is the case) then he is misguided and needs to be helped (to better love and understand people) not hated. I mean he hasn't done anything to them physically.

mel gibson was on the right track. if you open your mind, almost all organized religions pose a threat to mankind. i know that he's speaking as a catholic and not as an agnostic or atheist but in our times islam and judaism are equally dangerous religions because they have followers who'll surely kill in the name of God.

So what?

Mel hates jews, that's a well known fact.

Lots of people hate jews and as every day goes by, more and more people are learning to hate jews. So what!!

Can't we hate people any more? Do we have to pretend to love everyone?

I say that it's ok to hate, provided you don't hurt anyone.

As for drinking and driving - that's just stupid and he should be locked up for a year for that.

No. Ol' Mel's like the rest of us...he has some problems and isn't perfect. I'm not too concerned about somebody who says some really stupid things when he's drunk. My biggest concern is people who say really stupid things when they're sober.

People are focusing on the comments of a drunk man

They should be concentrating on the fact the idiot was driving while drunk. This guy has kids! No doubt he'll get a slap on the wrist simply because he's famous though :o\
