There are some people who call them selves BESNA that scan newspapers for "free to a good home ads". They take the animals and eat them. Apperently this is not illegal. I am not kidding. If you care about your pet ask the person you are giving him to what they plan to do with it, if they say it's none of your business be suspicious.

Isn't that just sickening? I know a guy that had an unwanted litter of puppies. His friend wanted the whole litter to he, so the guy said "whatever, just take them". I find that disturbing.

Also, if you have had an increase in katrina victims in your area, that have probably relocated (obviously) know that many (not all or most, I am not stereotyping) do practice voodoo. Which it is completely acceptable to use animals in their rituals. In my city there has been an increase of animal carcasses by our local train tracks, that seem to have been used in what they can tell to be rituals. However legally there isn't much authorities can do...unless the animals were tortured before they were dead (how do u prove that?) Because it is a religious belief...
I am soo not kidding! Local chihuahua has recently gone missing, and found gutted at the tracks. So please be careful, it takes all kinds of people to create this world, do what you can to keep our pets safe...

Holy Crap!!!!! I did a web search and they EXIST!!!!! WOW. I really had no idea. I mean, you fiigure there is someone out there eating pets, but a whole group that has made it a kind of religion!!!!!!!!!
I am going to print off the home page and post it at the shelter I work at, so that people that say they are going to give away free kittens can think twice!!!

Ok, first off that bensa.org site is a joke. look at the news section.

Anyway, all that aside. You eat cows, sheep, fish, chickens, deer, turkeys and even pigs. I don't see why it'd be so horrific to eat cats or dogs.

are you sure about this ? I know its possible for this to happen, but i haven't heard anything about it. but that doesn't mean that its untrue. if this is going on then something needs to be done to make it against the law to stop it.
