We would then be fighting a war on two fronts. Remember, throughout history whenever United States inhabitants (counting military forces) have been killed en masse, America has always come back to get them to kill many, many more. The most obvious example: Pearl Harbor. Over 2,500 men lost their lives that day, and the U.S. then joined the war, killing thousands of Axis troops and later ending the war in the Pacific with two atomic bombs.

We'd hold candle light vigils, act like we're the only country in the world that this has happened to, bring out the flags and the money hungry people of the nation would be out in full force to sell flags and anything possible that they could paint a flag on all in the name of "patriotism," we'd start having charity events to raise money, we'd start food drives, music artists would record some songs about it, we'd all get really mad and pretend to come together as one nation, the news media would be in heaven, we'd be glued to the TV to atch people's reactions and then we'd find someone to start a war with.....much like after 9-11.

TD's "right on target"!

Should the U.S. fall victim to another terrorist attack (and we will because Homeland Security [ha ha] doesn't have a clue as to how prevent future violence on American soil), that human frailty called 'hate' will rear its ugly head. And we will declare a new "war on terrorism" that will accomplish little.

George Bush claims to be a born-again Christian. Apparently he hasn't read much of his Christian Bible, because it clearly tells him to LOVE him enemies. It also clearly states, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL" (and there's no disclaimer saying it's okay to kill if you're the Commander-In-Chief and you have a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein, or if you want all the oil that's swimming underneath Iran's sands).

Violence begets violence. War begets war. Killing begets killing. Until the nations of the world learn to live together in harmony, accepting each others' religions and idealisms, and tolerating each others' strengths or weaknesses, the carnage (that is prophesied in George's Bible) will continue until we eventually destroy our species.

The United States government has failed to understand its role in the world. Instead of being a 'superpower' which only serves to alienate other nations who see us as a 'bully', America ought to be instrumental in creating equality around the globe. But, God forbid, that would mean SHARING the Earth's resources (and why should WE give up our 55% of those resources just because we're only 5% of the global population?).

Like any school yard bully who eventually gets ganged up on by all those victims of his intimidation, America is losing its place as a world leader and global peacekeeper because we're selfishly concerned about our own needs instead of the needs of the entire world.

We've got our ac-cent' on the wrong sy-lab'-ble - and it's all because of our own greed, lust, sloth, and arrogance. The key to global survival as a species is LOVE and SHARING, not HATE and FIGHTING. But we're too obtuse to understand that - and, yet, it's all right there on the pages of George Bush's Bible (maybe he should be reading it more often). -RKO-

wow.

you want this to happen?

anyway, we'd most definitely retaliate (afterall, Bush hasn't been impeached...yet).

you know... the usual, start a whole new war, lose lives (in vein), become hateful stereotypes constently bashing on the other, build weapons of mass destruction, wage chemical warfare, release newly inducted kamikaze bombers... i could go on...

why does this all seem familiar?
