I don't think I can get too religious on this question. The cause of all these disasters almost always goes back to greed and money. Hurricane Katrina was such a big deal because the relief efforts were DISGUSTING. The war in Iraq, pointless. Except in Bushes eyes.
People are extremely greedy, if it doesn't have to do with money its their own insecurities or contentment.
The world can be a sick place, but don't forget about the GOOD. The good beats out the evil. In my eyes.

From my study of history, the world has always gone through periods of progress and downfalls.
It is just more obvious now because of the media.
