I need to transfer all info from 80gig to a 160 gig hard drive. Can I do that safely should it be done by a shop I am using XP Home on a Dell 4600 and then reformat the 80gig so I can resale it to help pay for the 160gig. I guess I am looking for Step By Step instruction or where I Can find that info

most replacement harddrives you buy will come with software like ghostwriter that will make an exact copy of your original harddrive so you can transfer all your info to your new one.

All new hard drives bought in retail packaging should have a utility packaged with it to help with that. It should all be documented step-by-step in the manual.

Even if you didn't get anything with the drive, both the manual and the utility are available to you off the manufacturer's website for free.

Personally, I would use this software called Acronis TrueImage. It's been foolproof for me to do what you wanted - as well as maintaining a regular backup of my data/disk.

PS. I don't think you can transfer without using native Windows XP or Home capability

If you are in New Delhi, We can send our Engineer. Else you may approach a Hardware Dealer and ask them to send the Engineer with HDD.
