Two scenarios based on current scientific thinking:

1.
We have 50 to 100 years tops. The accentuation of natural global warming caused by the output of CO2 and methane will make the world unlivable within a century. The reduction of poleward transfer of latent heat due to the reduction of the thermohaline current system, will mean that the hottest areas will get hotter, the coldest areas will get colder, and the habitable areas will become much less. Cloud cover will become much greater, resulting in much less clement weather for maritime climates (like the uk- contrary to what most people say it will NOT turn the UK into Spain, or California- think seattle but really hot.) and much dryer weather for continental areas- deserts in europe and central US. The increased cloud cover will make the problem considerably worse. Extreme weather, caused by the increasing disparity in energy reciept at the poles and equator, will get more frequent and more severe. Indonesia and the areas of the US, Mexico and Carribean adjacent to or in the gulf of Mexico will become unlivable due to virtually constant battering by hurricanes. Economies and populations will collapse as crops will no longer provide enough food for the number of people present.

What is worse, Many scientists reckon that we have already passed the point of no return. Any efforts we may make, will merely slow the positive feedback caused by these changes down.

Scenario 2:
The initial changes occur as above but events such as the rising sea levels leading to greater dissolution of airborne CO2 and increasing vegatative yield resulting from higher CO2 content in the air may cause a negative feedback effect. As a result a new environmental equilibrium may be achieved. Should we continue to push our luck, the result will be as in Scenario 1, but at least it will give us some time to sort out the sustainability of our way of life.

The bad news is that there is no evidence to suggest that scenario 2 is particularly likely.

Still. The destruction of the human species at least will mean the end of Reality TV, so there are good points i suppose.

Still

The world was destined to end a long time ago. The Sun expansion, the Collide between our galaxy and Andromeda, The Big Rip will rip the world to pieces, a dark whole will consume the world, a close neutron star will explode, a comet will hit, the moon leaving our orbit will change (destroy) the world, a huge asteroid will hit the Earth, etc. All of these classify as natural disasters that could, but most likely will happen. But I believe that we humans have just triggered the boom a lot sooner. Global warming, ozone lair, nuclear disaster, hunger, extreme weather, World War 3, sickness, etc. All are artificial (human) disasters, every one of them have the potential to destroy the world, so bye bye, I'm going to take a stroll through the park while I still can.

Hehehe what an interesting question...

Let's see. I think it can be one of a few different causes, the first and obvious one being the return of Britney Spears to the music world. It will cause the mass suicide of intelligent people, and whoever is left (i.e. Britney fans) will not know how to survive.

The only other thing I can think of is that experiments done by scientists will speed up the process of ruining the earth instead of slowing it down. Maybe I shouldn't limit this to scientists, but I really do think that something is going to happen one day that causes the earth's rotation to speed up, change its course faster than previously determined, and either combust or crash into another planet.

All that you have mentioned above, except the second coming are distinct possibilities. If at all there is any divine intervention in the extinction of the world, which is what is meant by the second coming of Christ, it will happen through any of the other means. God works through natural phenomenon and not directly. The story of Christ's second coming should not be read to mean literally. May be some one, will emerge on earth, and claim to be the incarnation of Christ, and trigger a string of catastrophic events, in the name of purging the world of the evil forces, which ultimately means the end of the world.

how do you judge your predictions. i believe some nuclear war will be erupted in future that leaves many people's life shattered. as you can see the political powers being wrestled all over the world it only need a spark to turn everything into flame. not like old days where humanity was abundant and self respect was vital but nowadays people are more bound by laws and regs that not everyone knows about and which country don't own a nuclear resources?

Hi, well according to some scientist dude we are supposedly in for another ice age. but i dont know when. I think the world is going to end either by a meteor because there is one heading toward us but they dont know weather it will hit us yet or pass us as it is too far away to find out. Or there will be a war and everyone will die due to nuclear explosions and stuff. Hope fully not soon i hope.

More likely to be a hit from a meteor / asteroid strike rather than a nuclear strike. Just hope I am not around!

Well I already gave this answer in another question about 6 seconds ago but here-

In our solar system we have the sun, the sun is of course, a star. Stars run on a kind of fuel that keeps them shining. All stars eventually die, they have a lifespan. Most just curl up and die, but big ones "Supergiants" Expand first, and when it expands it will engulf the Earth killing us all. :)
