The name implies just what they are, temporary Internet files. They are left there so when you revisit a web site the web page will load faster. However, they consume large amounts of your hard drive storage, The more files you have on your hard drive (clutter), the more memory is used in order to read them. By deleting them, your computer's performance is enhanced. I clean mine out at least once a day, sometimes twice. The bigger your hard drive storage is the less you have to do this. If your computer is slow opening web pages it might be because this folder is full. Deleting these files opens space for your computer to put more crap in it. It works kind of like a garbage can. When it is full it won't hold anymore. Empty it and you have all that room to refill again.

Your PC will boot faster, you'll free disk space, and most likely
not even notice anything else.
If a website file is lost than a revisit to that site and a save to file will keep you happy.
I set parameters usually to delete that each time I power off my PC
(Also cookies and history).
Makes a huge difference with M$ machines.

Nothing at all. It will clean up your hard drive and give you more disc space. Also your programs will load faster and you generally improve the way your PC responds. In addition get rid of your junk files also. Try third party clean up programs down loadable from net. Try "Dust buster"

nothing at all. infact frequently delete them to empty space on ure HDD. Emptying it frequently also lessens the threat of spam attacks and pop-ups etc.. cos there are some sites out there that embed hidden programs in ure temp internet folder..

There's a slight risk as to that you favourite pages, which you had opted to make available offline, may be deleted & will no more be available offline. I am not sure about this, but I think you can give it a try right now, OK? Have a nice day :-)

No harm done.
It may open up some re-visited web pages quicker if you have those files. But I suggest they be deleted frequently.

Klo-Jann:
1. You will have more disk space.
2. It will not affect the normal running of the computer. It will only make the running more smooth which is beneficial.
