I think you mean the "housekeeping gene". They are a group of genes that are expressed in all cells, and whose products are required for the regular normal functioning of the cell. The genes are said to be constitutively active.

There are some cells that roam around your tissues attacking foreign invaders (bacteria/viruses) and also engulfing worn out cells and cell debris. There are a few types: macrophages, microphages, neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes. The last three are types of white blood cells. I guess they can be considered housekeeping cells.
