That "silly" remark was actually quite violent and racist. I'd be just as offended if he'd said something against another race, Surely if the "n" word had been thrown around as causually you'd be far more angry. Incidentally Einstein was promiscuous and Stephen King hasn't written anything decent in years, he need to be scared of mice.
A lot of great people were racist, Washington held slaves, America was actually very anti-semitic during wwII, and so on. People tend to forget that people are not "all" bad. While I think Mel needs some hard core therapy, I don't think he a horrible person. As far as his "image" is concerned though, I say trash away, it's not who he is or doing him a bit of good. People have to stop idolizing everything about a celebrity and realizing they are people with FAULTS.
But don't kid yourself, he said something very horrible and offensive drunk or no!

I think that it is unfortunate that they are making such a big deal out of this. True, he should not have been drinking and driving, no one should. However, if he had been just some "joe blow" on the streets then he would have just been arrested, charged and taken through the normal process of things like that. He is a human being and "people" make mistakes all of the time, especially when they are drunk. Even the arresting officer said he wished he would had never told about what was said during the arrest. It's just ridiculous.

Mel Gibson made the supreme mistake of stating facts about Jews. Like James Bond, they have the freedom to kill, but nobody dare criticise or comment on their tactics.
It is a fact that Israel is the front man of USA and can get away with anything, including murder.
Mel needs to be careful what he says and about whom.

because the jew did not watched his passion of christ.they think he is anti semitic for making that movie.which is the movie is true in a senses.he did not wrote the movie because it is written in the bible long before mel is born.they have been criticising him ever since he directed the movie.i would still watch his future movies because he is a good movie maker.maybe the jews will all be happy if they nail him up to the cross as they forfathers did to jesus.but mel is not the messiah.he is simply a human being who sometimes said awords without thinking of the outcomes.just like you and me and the rest of us.

Truesies. Why trash an entire man's career for bullshit drunk statements? That being said, who gets so drunk (.12 not bad) that you say dipshit stuff like that? But to crucify the man for what he said, let Mel go. Freeeeeedom.

It is Hollywood and the media always sensationalizes anything that happens to a major star . I hope that they do not destroy him as an actor . He has been one of my favorites since " Gallipoli ", not to mention the road warrior series . Best wishes Mel !!!!loyal fans are still supporting you !!!!

Because he says the same things sober. (And for a big-time boozehound like Gibson, 0.12 is hardly out-of-control drunk. He knew what he was saying.)
