I haven't seen the movie in years, but it was a good movie; though it wasn't her best.

Gia is a made-for-TV HBO film that stars Angelina Jolie as supermodel model Gia Carangi, who went from high school to the cover of British Vogue in less than two years. Carangi appeared on many more covers of Vogue (French, British, Italian, and American) and Cosmopolitan before dying of complications from AIDs (she was an IV heroin user) in 1986. Jolie comes by her talent honestly: she's the daughter of veteran actor Jon Voight, and her own training as a model serves her well here--she has the moves. Throughout, she's heartbreaking--as no doubt the real Carangi was--effective, and stunning. With good source material (Stephen Fried's A Thing of Beauty: The Tragedy of Supermodel Gia), Jolie's stunning performance, and strong directing by Michael Cristofer, the movie goes beyond the merely sensational. The script was co-written by Cristofer and novelist Jay McInerney, whose Bright Lights, Big City covers similar territory. As a cautionary tale, Gia works. But to watch Jolie in her character's tragic self-destruction is utterly compelling. --NF Mendoza, Amazon.com

Yes - and I have to say it was her best performance besides that of Lisa in Girl Interrupted. I must say Angie acted much better before she became a big star. Anyway, the way she portrayed Gia Carangi was phenomenal.

It looks like a cool movie - I watched a series of trailers for it. I looked up pictures of Gia Carangi at her height and I have to say that Angelina is still better looking than her. AJ is the best looking women on screen I know; she is just classical in her beauty.

I seen it a million times all with different girls friends. Most women are drawn to the movie. At first I didn't like it but as i grew to know the character over time I realize that the real "GIA" had a very sad life .She had everything going for her , but she never learned to manage for state, thus she paid the price. Good job by Angelina.

yeah i have it on video. angie did a good job of portraying bisexual model gia carangi and showed us that despite being a super model gia led a sad lonely life, taken from her by drugs and aids. angie really pulled it out the bag on this film, which she won a golden globe for. sky movies show it quite regularly. check it out if you can..recomended.

It's a pretty bad movie, but there are some wicked lesbian scenes in it- therefore almost certainly worth a look, you can fast forward through all the talking bits though cause they're rubbish

I have it at home, but not watched it yet...
...I think she's gorgeous, until you see John Voight on screen with her, then it'd be difficult to snog her, cos he has lips the same shape, and his face would keep popping into my mind...
*shudders*
...just WRONG!!!
(I did think she looked as sexy as FOOOOOK in Hackers tho...)
(UPDATE: OMFG!!! She's BI??? that just makes me want her MORE!!!!!!!)
