If you are running Windows XP, double click on "my computer" and single click on the drive you want to check.
It should tell you in the pain on the left what the file format is.

Right click on the hard drive and click Propertises option from the pop-up menu. A window will open which will give you details of your hard drive along with which File system it is. FAT32/NTFS

If your operating system is Windows 2000 or newer it is NTFS by default, but your system can read FAT32 also.

double click my computer, then right click on C drive and go to property. You will see all kind of info. including file system of your hard drive. good luck

Assuming you are using XP, Double click your MY COMPUTER icon, right click your C DRIVE icon and select PROPERTIES. The FILE SYSTEM will be stated there
