Cryogenics is a branch of physics (or engineering) that studies the production of very low temperatures (below –150 °C, –238 °F or 123 K) and the behavior of materials at those temperatures.

it is a method of preserving something so that it can be thawed and used at a later time.scientists are experimenting with cryogenics to try and solve a problem with spaceflight.there is so much distance between earth and other heavinly bodies that it is not yet fesible for a manned space flight to attempt to do intersteller travel.if cryogenics could be used on astronauts, perhapes intersteller travel for the perpose of colonization and exploration will be feasible someday.

Cryogenics were a fade in the sixties: the idea of freezing a human body for a long time, then "thaw" it later.
If we could not treat an illness, the idea was to freeze that person for as many years as needed, then thaw them in the future, when the treatment for that illness was found.
Never really worked: the freezing process destroys the "quality" of the human cells and killed the patient.
Today, maybe, we could freeze of record your DNA and re-create you in the future. You would be a clone of yourself, but I doubt "it" would be "you".

Cryogenics is basically freezing. Freezing for the sake of preservation and possibly healing. If you've ever heard the term "suspended animation", it usually refers to cryongenic freezing.
