I always wonder where they keep the sensors so that they are not affected by direct sunlight, or the heat from the engine.

I have C280 and S350 they both have it on left bottom of the front bumper cover.

The sensor on my Benz is tucked away in the front bumper. On my Fusion, I'd swear that it's showing the temp of the air inlet -- it reads at least 25 degrees high when the car's been sitting in the sun and takes about 2 or 3 miles to come down to "normal".

He's right. on the MB the temp sensor is under the front bumper. but on Volvo's it's in the driver's side mirror,

Each manufacturer chooses the "hiding spot"

We have a '84 300 SD Mercedes and it's on the front bumper behind the front license plate holder.

On my W140 it's located in the lower part of the front bumper
