Me too. I reckon he's going to be gutted (excuse my terminology) when it comes to it. Did you see how upset he was when he saw them docking those piglets tails and castrating them?

I'm not going to watch it next week because I think it will be awful.

After watching last weeks F word showing the piglets abroad who are tail docked and castrated while squealing in pain, then kept in indoor pens so small they cant turn around until they are fat enough to be slaughtered, I think Gordons pigs are fortunate they have had the life they have. It is sad they will be slaughtered (or already have been) but as long as people eat meat it will continue. If anything, it should encourage people to buy free range meats where the animals have had a good standard of life and not the cheap stuff available in the supermarkets.

1) The pigs were bred and raised for the sole purpose of being eaten. If they were not to be eaten they would not exist. End of that particular argument.
2) Children on farms have always dealt with this fact and it does not stop them playing with the animals, giving them names etc - my mother grew up on a Dales farm and had a pig every two years, played with it, called it by a name... it makes the pigs life probably a bit more pleasurable to get tickled and stroked so why the heck not.
I find it astonishing that townies simply can;t understand what the deal is with killing animals to eat. And before you get indignant I live in the deepest heart of Sheffield and have never lived in the country in my life.

I don't want him to either but I think I would repect him more if he does (as long as I don't have to watch the slaughter)

The reason for this is the fact that this is what the pigs are for and if he hadn't brought them they probally wouldn't of had the life they've enjoyed. And also if he backs out it might send a funny message to his kids, as a large part of the experiment was to teach his kids (and the audience) where food and meat comes from.

But they are too damn cute, I personally couldn't eat them!

Although it's a good thing to show us where our pork comes from I am put off but the combination of him being nice to the pigs while discussing how nice they'll be when they are cooked. There is a bit of the serial killer inside Gordon Ramsey.

But this kind of thing happens every single day! i appreciate that we dont see the process as we have with trinny and susannah (just such a great idea to call them that!), but that is primarily what they are bred for. I do think that they are incredibly sweet, and Gordon especially has got particuarly attatched to them, but the whole idea of him getting them was to fatten them up and take them to slaughter, not to keep them as pets... although part of me hopes that he'll turn round at the very last minute and change his mind! But I dont think he will....

I am a veggie so it saddens me to see any animal killed, however I understand that it is what they are bred for but how someone can care for an animal and watch their children interact with it and then slaughter it is just beyond me.
Gordon Ramsey must be dead inside.

What is the deal with chef's thinking they are God Almighty? They are cooking not saving lives!

I dont think he wants to kill them either. But he has to as the show has been gearing up to it. Think the animal rights people and vegetarians should have a go to try sway him.

He has brought his children up to know where their food comes from. However he was warned not to name them and he did. His children play with them all the time and I would not like to be the one who has to tell them he has had them killed.

I think it will be hard on his children, and I hope he feels guilty about it.

However as someone else has mentioned, it is prerecorded, so he is probably feeding his children bacon as we speak.

Would be great if one of his children turn round and become vegans!

And how many of you are vegetarian?.....

He's teaching his children where food comes from (as he did with the turkeys) and is rearing them in far better conditions than half the food you'll find in the supermarket so I can't see the problem at all.

Right, time for my bacon sandwich....
