Not into fictitious sci-fi characters, myself!
My favorite movie (and REAL) heroes AND "villains" were and ARE .......
BONNIE & CLYDE!!!!!!
Misunderstood by most, B&C were NOT a couple of kill-crazy punks; they were revolutionaries of their time!!! The controversy still lingers, 72 years after their bloody ambush: some, like me, sympathize with the young Texan outlaw couple; others think they got exactly what they deserved!
But to get back to your original question, the Bonnie & Clyde of the movies definitely helped to perpetuate the notion that, while they were, indeed, criminals (i.e., "villians") - they were, at the same time, HEROIC figures as well. In this case, art immitates real life!!!!!
