I don't fully understand the purpose of using rape in this case?

I am sure there are many ways to interpret this but i think it refers to not actual rape but another definition of the word. Taking away or seizing her opportunities that lead to happiness. He saved her and now believes he deserves her. And she feels his presence claiming her and haunting her.

Probably that her boyfriend has twisted personality so the evil one rapes her than the good one save her.Ha-ha Something like Secret Window if you`ve seen it.

saving me raping me ...this means he totaly defied her most inner being and then save her.......its like she was abused..kind of hard to explain
