Making friends with strangers is much the same whether they are male or female except that females tend to be a bit more wary (naturally).

To start with you need to find something you are both interested in or (more importantly) something she's interested in and you can be! The secret of making friends is to start by LISTENING. Everybody loves someone who listens to what they have to say with interest, so that is the best and easiest way.
