The trick with classical music is that they take the catchy bits and change and develop that riff. Listen to the opening movement of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and see how many different ways the da da da daaaa is developed and played with. Slowed down, speeded up, played in reverse, flicked from instrument to ibstrument, and a whole lot of other tricks. Those four notes are the foundation of the whole movement. A lot of it is learning how to listen (not that anyone has to - I was just fortunate [in my opinion] to grow up listening to it)

I enjoy it. There is nothing better than a good Rachmaninoff Concerto when the world has kicked you in the butt. Keep an open mind...listen...you'll hear the instruments talking to each other. Complex, beautiful and great therapy.
