Remote Dektop. Login remotely to a computer. In XP or 2003 Right click My Computer - > Properties - > Remote. You can see Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop. Select whatever you need. If you select Remote Assistance, somebody with permission can login to see your desktop to assist you in something. If you select remote Desktop, the person can login to your PC from his PC provided he is given access by you in your users list. In XP only one session is available at a time and whenever he or you (from anothe machine) logins, your current session will be logged off or locked. But in 2003 server you can can have 3 different sessions.

To access a machine remotely, Take Remote Desktop connection from your accessories or type 'mstsc' in your run command. Then Enter the IP or the name of the machine name. It is used when you want to connect to your office machines Desktop from your home etc

It's a program in MS OS allowing someone to actually enter your machine and help you. Have I used it? Yes. Are there other programs I prefer to MS? Yes. It's handy when troubleshooting problems for friends and clients.
