I think he will be a marked man for a bit - I think defenders will be out to get him and wouldn't be surprised if he got injured only after a few matches of the season.
People will forget with time though as everything moves on.

He will get booed for about 3 weeks and then everyone will forget about it. Hopefully. He was a stupid scapegoat, most english players would have done the same. Terry is forever running up to referees. I suppose the wink was abit far bu get over it he was excited it was the world cup.

I'd say he will be treatened, abused, booed, spat at and jeered...I hope that the mindless thugs that do this will off course be handed a lifetime ban from all football matches...there is no place for violence in football...if these so called "fans" like fighting so much why don't they get a back bone and join the armed forces and see how real men fight......oh I feel so much better after getting that off my chest!!!

he will make english fans remenber for the second time what happens when england has to play against portugal...and maybe now its time to english players practice more penaltys, you dont want it to happen over &over again do you...
about ronaldo nothing should happen cus at the end he was defending his country,as english players were defending their.what would you say if it was rooney at ronaldos place???im sure you would have a different opinion...

real madrid are in preparation to make an offer to man u for him as soon as they can persuade van nistelroy to work with him as they see nistelry as a player for now and ronaldo a player and big shirt seller of the future, but the both of them don't get on and capello (the manager ) likes unity in his sides so he's undecided.

He's in for a rough time as long as he stays in this country. Think of the reception Beckham got after '98 and he was on our side. I can't see him sticking around for too long. He wasn't a crowd favourite before the incident

Thick English fans who still actually belive that England would have got further in the tournament, even though they were crap. Will still need someone to blame. So they will do what they did to David Beckham and eventually get bored !

That MU will not released him and he's not going anywhere but to stay put, he's gonna prove himself (he has no choice!). Hopefully he'll be mentally strong and matured (and professional enough) to overcome the initial stage of the season, he'll be all fired up just to make amends.
