How do I remove mold/fungus stains from the ceiling softboard, caused by water leak?

after fixing the leak,let the sheetrock dry out.if it is too damaged you will have to replace.cut out the damaged sheetrock back to the center of the ceiling joists.then replace.

clean any mold with bleach and water.let dry,then use a product such as kilz.which is a stain blocker,then paint.good luck

First, fix the the water leak, then if the stain is not too bad, go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a product called "Kilz". It's made for this purpose. If it's worse, you may have to cut and patch. Go to home center and watch a demonstration to see how it's done.

repair the water leak. that's the root of the problem. if the wood is no longer wet, the molds/fungus will go away. chip 'em off when they go dry using a scraper.

Try clorox on a sponge. After that, rinse it and blow dry. You might need to paint after, but sometimes not.
