M-O-N-E-Y can buy innocence. The average man killing his ex-wife & her friend would go to death row...but not OJ. The average man giving kids wine & sexually abusing them would go to prison....but not Michael Jackson. The averge Joe drinking and driving would go to jail, or at least lose his liscense...but not Mel Gibson. I could go on and on...but I'm sure you know the count as well as I do. Our society is MUCH too easy on these criminals....they are no better than anyone else just because they're rich and famous.

Kate Moss was not caught by the police doing anything, someone has a photo of her snorting coke. How can they arrest her for that?
George Michael Cottaging........like thousands of other gay men who are also not arrested every night.
Mel Gibson............the only drink driver to get away with a caution.I dont think so?
Maybe they are not in prison because they ARE being treated like everyone else.

That would all depend entirely upon the severity of the crime! But then, that rule should apply to EVERYONE.
Unfortunately, celebrities ARE granted special consideration. Anyone with enough money & clout can do the same, even if they are not famous. Is this fair to the rest of us?! Of course not!!! But that's just the way it is.
But, consider this. A celebrity with a tarnished reputation WILL suffer consequences, in the court of public opinion! Does ANYONE really believe OJ or MJ are the superstars they once were???! Their careers are pretty much RUINED in the wake of their scandals, and I would imagine the loss of worldwide love & admiration would be serious personal devastation to our "fallen heroes"! So even if they DO "get away with" their crimes, life as they once knew it is over - and it must be hell on earth for them now being "persona non grata", whereas they were once worshipped as idols.

If you do the crime, you should do the time.
However the celebs have the money to get the top lawyers in the country to defend their case.
There should not be one set of rules for the rich and another for the not so rich or even poor but there is and it will remain that way because of the influence of money and a weak legal system.

Celebrities should go to prison if found guilty of the crime they allegedly committed. But most often because of influence and money, they get away. That means our judicial system is not fair.
But anyway, there is a greater court where God is the judge and nobody even the richest man on earth will be able to escape.

Hi i dont know why they get away with is, Just coz there celebrities doesnt mean they should get away with it, as they should be treated the same as everyone else. Its pathetic, they have even got proof of the crimes they have commited and still nothing is done. The Law is totally wrong and should be changed even if they are rich or not.

Totally agree!! also why do the press give them so much coverage?? Prime example is pete doherty why do we need to know that he has fallen off the wagon again!! It's like fre publicity for them!! he was pictured in the paper injecting what looked like an unconcious girl and he's still allowed to wander the streets and appear on tv shows!! something needs to change i think!!!
The reason they get away with it is can you imagine a celebrity in prison!! They wouldn't last 2 minutes!!!

Yes, but then money makes the world go round.
Even non celebrities don't go to prison sometimes you know.
Look at paedophiles, drunk drivers mowing down pedestrians, drug users, getting either fines, rehabilitation courses, community service, suspended sentences or at worse paltry prison custody for diabolical and heinous crimes.
Its all the fault of living in a liberal on law offending society.

One word: money. They pay a lot of money to get away from this. Who does crimes by intentionally must be punished as the laws say. They pay and they are free, but sometimes they have some moments when money can't help them at all.

I agree its unfairness to the rest of us who would get twice as worse if we were punished. I think they seem to get a more lenient punishment because they can afford better lawyers who charge ridiculous amounts of money to save their skins. Mel Gibson should definitely be in prison for his anti Jewish remarks- that was out of order.
