He's only three years old and is only excited that you are there for him. You should pick out the books that you currently like or liked when you were growing up to pass on to your child. If you enjoy reading them your son will be happy. It will influence your child to become excited about learning. Books with lots of colors and short sentences, not long paragraphs are good for children this age. I hope it helped.

Picture books by Allan Alhberg are very good. There is the Jolly Postman and Peep po. Also Usbourne books do a series of stories about Blackberry Farm I think. Anyway on each page there is a duck hidden and my daughter just loved them when she was three.

Grump by Janet Wong is one of favorite picture books.

Goodnight Copycub by Richard Edwards is a good choice for a bedtime story.
Another bedtime story recommendation would be Llama llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney.
A Hug For You by Margaret Anastas is another good book.
I also love Mouse Mess by Linnea Asplind Riley.
Other 'classic' choices would be Dr. Seuss of course.
Robert Munsch has written so many great books too--he's probably best known for LOVE YOU FOREVER though.

Any of the children’s books written by Chris Van Allsburg. These books are not only beautifully illustrated, but they fill both the child and adult readers imagination and make you wonder...
I have read about half of his books myself, to my sisters kids, and they are wonderful.

What i did with my daughter is always read books more advanced than her age. She is now 12 years, going into 9th grade, and a straight A student. Best of luck and enjoy him while he is young because they grow up quickly.

Reading the book instead of viewing the movie is the best way to see what the author meant. Reading uses your creativeness, hones your reading skills, and can better your vocabulary
