Yes, she's pretty normal. My 12 year old son would spend all day on this thing if I let him, but I have now had to give him a time limit. He spends more time chatting on messenger than he does having a face to face conversation with his friends. He now gets 3 hours a day, it is up to him when he takes the 3 hours, and he does not get to carry them over. Now he has no excuse to go out for fresh air and a social life instead of becoming a recluse.

Internet/computer addiction is a real problem with people of all ages. Like other addictive vices, the computer allows us to escape everyday problems. This is good in some ways and bad in others. Sometimes it is nice to "veg-out” and do something mind numbing. The downside for those that become addicted is that they lose the ability to cope with the many stressors of everyday life.

Now is the time to set limits on what you allow when it comes to non-school related computer time. This needs to be a rule followed by all of the kids in the home. Obviously, you should make concessions for age if you have older kids.

In the interest of safety, never allow your children to have access to the Internet when you cannot monitor their activities. Stress the importance of alerting you if ANYTHING at all makes them feel uncomfortable. There are many people on the Internet willing to help anyone with any problem, or engage in conversation. Unfortunately, in today’s world, these nice people find themselves lumped into the pool with potential predators. You monitoring of these conversations allows you to make the judgment calls on who is and who is not a suitable online friend.

Good luck!

I'm 14, and, as your daughter I spend most of my free time on the PC. I realize I'm not doing good, but I just can't quit it. Sometimes I just wish the internet hadn't been invented. Try to talk to your daughter about other things she could do instead of staying in front of the PC. Try to show her the magic world of books and spend more time with her. I hope this will serve...

children are very much exposed to multi media nowadays..internet included. it's good that she seems to have decided on a career she wants to pursue. as her parent, it would be wise to be supportive and encourage her to pursue her goal. however, it is also your duty to teach her to be responsible and that would mean having to talk to her and make her understand that learning is not limited to the net; that it is essential for her to engage in other activities that can help teach her skills and attitudes that she needs to develop in order to take that step closer to reaching her goal. limit her online time to manageable hours so it'll be easier on your part to monitor her. and most important of all, share her enthusiasm for her goal by trying to spend more time learning about what she's interested in. This way, you won't only be able to better evaluate the limits to be set, your daughter will also, hopefully, develop a newfound appreciation for you and a healthy respect for your suggestions and opinions when it comes to her field of interest because she knows you know what you're talking about. God bless.

It may hamper her study... And its sad that now a days childens are less attracted by books due to internet. They spend most of the time in computer and Internet, which is a bad habit, specially for children!!! Take precaution and try to attract her towards books.

childrens has to be more natural with their child hood time. Being attached with computer for a long time at their child hood will not always create good impact on childs.

in child hood days they have to be very normal, calm, and natural. this methods of growing system will help them to develop good skills and will be intelligent citizens in future.

i am no saying that computer is bad, but as a parent you need to controll their spending time infront of the pc.

Being a human being overall development of their behaviour is a must. So we have to encourage them for developing right skills.

Parents have to identify their inborn skills such as singing, reading, intrest in sports etc.By spending most of the time in a day with computer literaly they killing their other talents. One thing i have to remind you is computer is not life , computer is a part of our life.

In your case you have to tell your child dont overstrain with the computer. Take sufficiant time and be patient with her job. Because child is only 12 a long way to go in life.

encuorage her to reach the goal whatever she need .

BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Limit her to at the most 2 hours a day.. and tell her to go play outside, if you want your daughter to become very obese then leave her infront of the computer.

Addiction to anykind of thing is bad, whether it is computer or your work or anything for that sake. It is not normal, she might be missing something thats why she is addicted to her site. So hurry up and consult with a doctor.

It's becoming normal for kids to be on the computer all the time, but it's not good. You're her mother....make her get off and do other things.
