no, it depends. but there are too many bad side effects of smoking to your child. Smoking harms your baby. When you smoke, your baby gets less oxygen. Lack of oxygen can cause your baby to grow more slowly and gain less weight in the womb. Smoking during pregnancy has also been linked to preterm labor and other pregnancy complications.

I have never heard of smoking leading to a cleft palette. Maybe smoking meth, or crack. Either way, never smoke when pregnant, and do not smoke around your kids.

NO...smoking does not cause a cleft. It is a genetic disorder....nothing you can do to prevent it from happening. It is not a person's fault....it is all in the DNA!

Smoking while pregnant causes many health problems, including asthma,low birth rate, and many other illnesses.Your child will also be born addicted to nicotine and will cry constantly because he/she no longer gets the drug.
