May I suggest that you wash your pillow in the washer and dry it the drier. i do that in mine every month. i make sure i take shower every night before i go to bed. i am sure you do that too. if the smell persists. get a new pillow. Sears has some god stuff.
have good day!!

according to a show that Oprah had on. Pillows are breeding grounds for dust mites and other pests. EVERYONE should get a new pillow every year

did you wash it and then maybe it didn't dry completely and it's starting to get mold growing in there?
is it a down pillow? sometimes those can smell strange if they get wet.
why don't you give it a good washing and then dry it for a while and then hang it outside for a day, in this heat it should dry in no time.

Drool, dust mites, latex odor if latex, animal peed on it?
Just get a new one! And use an allergy cover over it, then a new pillowcase. Life is too short to have dirty pillows.

You haven't indicated what it smell like but my guess it is sweat from the summer heat. Just wash it in the machine and afterwards spray your favorite scent all over it and refresh it every so often. Lavender is supposed to be relaxing and helps to get you to feel sleepy faster. Good luck!

Any chance that your dog has been sleeping on it when you aren't looking?
Also, where has your pillow been recently? That would be helpful in pinpointing the cause.
