whats the difference between a sister site and an affie?please help if you can.?

im opening a site and i need to know please help :D

A sister site is one that's engaging in a mutual admiration society with you. You point traffic at them, they point traffic at you.

An affiliate is anything that's getting a kickback for traffic, or paying you for traffic stats/data, etc.

A sister site will tend to be closely affiliated with the primary site (eg owned by business partners, closely related or friends etc)

an Affiliate will tend to be someone who receives commission from sales on a site, and is open to anyone and everyone.
