There is an interesting scientific thesis out there that postulates a global catastrophe about 5,000 to 10,000 years ago. It suggests that the present climate of the earth was substantially modified by the deposit of very cold ice / gas on the poles. If this were true, then the past few thousand years of the earth's history would be that of a slow shift back to the status quo ante, that is, the poles warming up and the earth going back to having a more uniform climate pole to equator.

Some evidence to back this theory up: 1.) the discovery of quick-frozen woolly mammoths in the artic regions. 2.) the discovery of tropical forests below the ice and snow of Antarctica.

It's just a theory, as any scientific postulate about the past must necessarily be, but it is still interesting. In any case, it would give us an interesting explanation of the cause of global warming.

The issue is not whether global warming is real or not. Everyone knows the earth heats up and cools down on a regular cycle. The issue is whether man is causing it to accelerate or not. The science for the cause is what is creating the biggest argument.

Scientists that say it is a natural event don't get funding. Scientists that create fear - do.

What global warming?
There is no such thing as global warming, as long as there is ice on the polar caps, there is no global warming, you people just want to take our suv's, if you are so concernned about global warming, why didn't you vote for Al Gore.
And anyway, if thing get to hot, George Bush will send in the marines and take care of the problem, mission acomplished.

consider this:
-it was 115+ degrees in my city for a WHOLE week. it has never happened before in my city, usually the summer is only like 101 at max
-whats up with all those tsunamis and hurricanes that have been happening this year and last year??

I definetly think that GLOBAL WARMING is REAL. We should all believe it's real. Screw george w. bush!

i think now that the giant heat wave is sweaping the nation, we all need to prepared along the gulf coast and the atlantic coast because after the list of hurricanes in 2005 we need to pay attention to the weather now that hurricane season is here with a clean slate! but i kno for a fact the global warming is happening at this very moment...my uncle is a meteorologist and studies global warming and has been traveling to antartica for the past 5 years and has seen lots of iceburgs fall apart and ice melt...but its all because of our outragous use of our cars.

Yes. In local weather technological know-how, a fashion of seven days at a unmarried place is unequivocal evidence of a international, multi-decadal phenomenon, adding proof of attribution. This best works in local weather technological know-how, despite the fact that. If you probably did this in engineering, the bridges and constructions you designed could cave in and kill countless numbers of persons; within the resulting research, you could be located criminally negligent and despatched to prison. But, in local weather technological know-how you're no longer held in charge; rather, you're going to be eligible for the Nobel Prize.

global warming is just a word to explain to the world that the weather is changing around the world, people need words to explain things, the fact is,this world is a living entity or life form, and like all lifeforms it changes, look at history in the 1500-1800 this planet had a mini ice age,and their wasn't 6 billion people here or cars,or factory's the earth is changing, and as humans we have to stop wondering what is happening and do what we humans do best,we need to adapt and change our thought.because its just going to get worse and if we do nothing, then we will lose

I know. And it's very unusual for the the entire country to be hit all at the same time.
Have you ever heard of HAARP? Can look it up. In Alaska. Supposedly experimenting for years on controlling the weather.
