Bitches, bling, and shooting people pretty much sums up 90% of all the rap that's come out the last 5 years, anyone else think rap is garbage? It seems like like any black guy with his pants down to his knees can pick up and mic and ramble about some sh*t and get paid to do it. Why not just go to college? Or better yet, graduate high school?

While I don't like most of today's mainstream rap either, no, rap as a whole does not "make Black people look retarded" if you realize that:
A) Not all Black people look down on education and/or act, dress, think or talk like these stereotypical mainstream rappers you're referring to, and
B) Not all rap is like what you see on TV and hear on the radio.
Contrary to popular belief, there are still some emcees out there who don't fit the "cookie-cutter" mold and have something to say. Unfortunately we rarely (if ever) see them in the mainstream media. A lot of the real emcees and good hip hop artists have been put on the backburner or are stuck in the underground circuit because for the most part, good ol' Corporate America has flooded the market with whatever "trend du jour" makes them the most money as opposed to actual talent, variety and substance. There's no variety in the mainstream media anymore, and that's where the real problem lies.

Some people dont have the advantages to be able to have a life where they can graduate high school and a lot of people cant afford college or have to take care of there families. Yeah some rap sucks but some send out a good message.

I don't like rap song. But I admire the black people through the years. They are talented and gifted. They have a unique way of expressing themselves in music like rapping and they have great voice. Not only in music but also in sports, they are excelling.
Perhaps they don't have the means to go to school. The government scholarship grant maybe just for the white people only and they are neglected because they are black.

well it seems as though you haven't done any research in the past few years.You are defiantly wrong big time.I agree the old gangster rap was terrible.But that is not the main stream rap these days.Are you poor white trash and jealous your not making more than 6 dollars a hour.? The rappers that don't act like that can't get thier music played on the radio. There are some that act like that because they have idoits tell that is cool-Have you seen Bow Wow lately? He looks like 50 Cent now.
Plus how can you encourage kids to get an education when you have a media and some black communities worship Rappers and athletes? I hear more kids yelling that they want to be rappers and don't care about school.
