Ever heard of the galaxy clock theory?
In a documentary called Evidence: The Case for NASA UFO's narrated by David Sereda, he explained the theory in simple details. I may not be keen on this and could very well be wrong, so please don't judge me, but you're welcome to give constructive criticism, but anyhow, according to that documentary, our galaxy (the Milky Way) developed in this theory. The idea is that each oscillation of light per second (186.282 miles per sec) from the outter most energy ring to the inner most energy ring will be warped and eventually at a point in time excel beyond the speed of light. This is possible because as the oscillation of the speed of light per sec increase, the higher the frequency you get, the more energy is obtain through the equation of E = hf (where h = Hertz and f = frequency, with E = Energy). Because frequency is increase in the inner most energy ring, you get more energy which is so high and so fast it excel over the speed of light. Theoritically, this is possible, but it contradict with Einstein's statement that nothing is faster than the speed of light, with his equation E = mc^2. Watch the documentary on the link below if you have fast internet connection for the original explanation.
This theory is explained in Part II of the documetary (second link below) at the 20:56 min | sec.

Maybe when/if the time comes and science completely understands the quantum effect of 'nonlocality' (the instantaneous reaction of subatomic particles to each other over vast distances) your idea might be feasible. And don't forget 'tachyons,' theoretical particles that travel faster than light. So far, no such particle has been found though.
Also, the specific and detailed nature of gravity isn't yet understood. However, most scientists believe that it does NOT propogate faster than light.

gravity is not faster than c--or the speed of light in a vacuum. Gravity causes waves or curves or warps or ripples in spacetime, but these all propagate at c and no faster. In other words, if the Sun were to vanish in an instant, the ripple of its disappearance would not reach spacetime around the earth until 8 minutes later.

We call them aliens if we do not know these extra terrestials. But if we do know them already, like the great great ancestors of the earth civilizations who were space travelers. Then they are our brothers and sisters from other civilization. The astronaut are not space travelers.
