Recently there have been new inventions: devices that use radar to allow a user to see through walls up to 6-12 inches thick (even concrete). A device named Radar Scope developed by DARPA notifies a user if there is movement (person breathing, walking, etc) on the opposite side of the wall. Another device made by Israelis can actually create a 3D image of what's behind a wall by using radar in the ultrawide band.

Obviously these devices were created to aid law enforcement, military, fire fighting, and paramedic agencies. But, I feel that it will also be a privacy issue especially for those who live in apartments and condos with attached neighbors.

Grainy images of what might be happening behind a wall aren't really that much of a threat.

yes there are implications, but it's not like it's a camera sitting in your bedroom.

At best you'll probably see blobs moving about.

These are great devices but need to be used in proper places of course. Like Government purposes! Let's just hope the Government will not sell these devices to everybody and things will be regulated! Like with the guns - to some extend. All in all, i see it more as advancement in technology than a privacy issue. But i see where you're coming from.

Any technology that can be used for good, can also be used for evil too. inevitably that technology gets abused by people (whether private individuals, corporations, or governments) with evil intent.

If the Technology is used for rescue, then that's all good. if it's used to spy on private citizens and invade privacy then obviously that's not good.
