Well I would feel that I was doing you a disservice if I didn't preface this by stating the obvious, and that is that he is too old for you and the law considers any sexual relationship nonconsensual. Whew, okay. Got that out of the way. I know you don't want to hear that. I also dated a older guy when I was 16 so I know all about that. :)
I think the best date for you would be something PUBLIC, such as movies, the mall, lunch, that type of thing. If you can make it a group date, all the better. A date where the two of you will be alone is completely inappropriate at this stage, and I would say that to anyone- it's just a good rule to follow. Make sure someone always knows where you're going and whom you're with.

Well for starters dont have sex coz that will make him a criminal (underaged sex) but yeah just be yourself and enjoy ur time with him. Should be the same as dating someone your age apart from the fact that he may be a little more mature, can drive and drink (depending where you are US have to be 21 Australia and most rest of world you have to be 18)

first of all get your parents approval,
go to dinner in a nice restaurant with some nice music, the go to a sit in movie theater. the drive back to your house and let him go home as soon as he drops you off with your parents.
just remember you a minor, he is an adult, don't let him talk you into having sex, that is considered statutory sex, (jail time for him) even if it is OK'd by you

my answer is that you have no business going on a date with someone that old because it is technically illegal AND any man that old messing with someone so young has all the WRONG intentions. he just wants to hit it and quit it and is probably infatuated with the idea that you are probably and hopefully so young and inexperienced.
