People make the mistake of holding things back from their mate. It may be they fear a loss of respect if they come out with everything to their mate. Perhaps they have some secrets which could really shock their partner and desires the partner may not be ready for. Talking things over with a close personal friend of the opposite sex Can get answers the partner may not be able to give.

What's wrong in that after all he will be a good friend where as the other one will still remain a life partner.Why be so narrow minded.

i have lots of male friends. my husband trusts me. it is not an issue. if i wanted someone else i wouldnt have taken those vows.
