NO. It is never forgotten. Fortunately, the pain from abuse eventually fades with time. Even months after the incident, it doesn't hurt as much as it did weeks after it.
The abuse changes the way the person thinks. It will be hard to be non-judgemental and non-biased if someone has done something like that to you and you might get mixed messages coming from your friends, your parents, teachers, then yourself.
The real problem is when all those conflicting messages don't make sense and you can't determine who is correct and all you feel is confusion and shame from what happened.
No, it is not forgotten but hopefully the abused get a chance to resolve (with therapy) any issues that have been troubling them after the abuser has left the victim's life (hopefully in prison).

While I have never experienced sexual abuse personally, I have known many survivors of it. I believe that forgetting would not be the healthiest way of dealing with the emotional scars. It is the same as suppression and will result in the negative feelings manifesting themselves in other ways.
It would be better to confront your feelings and learn to accept and deal with them. Only in this way can you move forward.

Yes. The person has put away those memories in dut bin of the mind by thinking that the victim was not responsible for it, it happened because of someone else's depravity & the victim was too young to comprehend it.
A calm thinking & state of mind can be achieved.

No, once the memory is there, it will always be there. Even if you ignore it without fail, it will still be there, waiting to be dealt with.
If you are the one with the memory, check out a "survivors" type group. Listening to other's experiences can be very healing and help put things in perspective.

Not unless you have a physiological problem with the brain.
However........ it can be "left behind" emotionally.
You wont forget - you'll just not think on it often.
