I think you mean aligned not alienated.

Anyway the basic idea is that the Bishop holds all parish assets in trust for that specific parish community. This means that while the Bishop has final control over the property, he simply cannot do anything that he pleases with it.

The Canons from the 1983 Code of Canon Law that you want are 121, 122, 123 and the surrounding context.

I am not sure it would be any different to any other property transfer.

Have you tried to contact a local catholic church, I am sure they will have information on any differencies.
