Does it change the way you feel? Depending on what kind of movie you watch though...like after a scary movie, do you feel scared throughout the rest of the day/week? after movies like v for vendetta, do you feel the world isn't really a safe place? or after movies showing documentaries about the holocaust, do you feel the world is evil? after movies like sisterhood of the traveling pants, do you feel more appreciative towards your friends? etc...if you do, why do you think it impacts us that way?

Yeah, they do...but that's what a good movie is supposed to do. If you are "untouched" at the end of a movie...then it wasn't a very good movie now was it?! If you're scared after a movie for a day, or weeks, then it was a darn good movie! But yes, they do change the way I think for a while...sometimes is kind of scary. For example, if you watch a movie about natural disasters, the feeling is not good...in my case, I start to think about the area I live in and if that could happen to me! Movies can have alot of impact on a person, especially if they are weak at that time or something...

Movies make me feel things because I allow myself to be open to that. Many people go to the scary movies because they like to be manipulated and have intense emotions. I don't go for that very reason. I saw Schindler's List (holocaust) and felt better about life because of Schindler's change through the movie. When I saw Sisterhood, I have a daughter that was similar to one of the characters and I had emotions as if she, my daughter, was the one in the movie.

Movies are made to make us feel things. I have learned that everything in a movie is the way it is to fulfill the purpose of the filmmaker. The title, the first thing you see, every little detail is placed where it is and filmed the way it is to fulfill that purpose. People just have to go and pay attention and be emotionally open and they get the effect.

If you view a movie a second, third and other subsequent times, you will see how every detail promotes the ultimate purpose. Little things that didn't quite make sense the first time, but weren't important enough to remember at the end, will make more sense after you know the end result, etc. I love movies and I like to study them, when they are good ones.

Note: Did you notice that it rains in almost every sad scene?

This is a really good question. For my part, I don't know if I'm normal and I would like to hear about others who would be like me, but after watching a movie, ANY KIND, I feel this kind of weird complete lack of emotions for the rest of the hours of the day until I wake up another day. This is troubling me, and I don't know if I said it right. It's like my soul was gone, I can just stare at the air and do repetitive physical moves. HELP

I did after watching ths Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I think because your inspried that, what happened in the movie really happened or, the thought of it did.

i'm not so impacted by movies... after a particularly creepy movie i feel like weak legged while getting out of my seat and out of the theater but by the time i get home it all brushes over... i guess its just the effect of watching the certain events and their effects depnding on what events you watched (what type of movie it was).
