I've had spiders, centipedes, and even a catapillar in my bathtub--and I'm a clean person!

When you drain your water, the water doesn't completely fill up the entire pipe. Bascially, there's room for them little buggers to fly/crawl through the pipe between the water in it and the top of the pipe. It's no reflection of how clean you are.

I feel your pain, just 10 minutes ago I went in my bathroom and saw like 15 little bugs crawling around the tub and I washed them down.... totally disgusting. It's just that time of year!

Most likely the pipes have cracks and holes in them, letting the spiders and other insects be able to get into them.
