I went out with my boyfriend the other day and we were at the supermarket buying things. i was buying a packet of milk and he was buying a magazine. We were in the same queue and i paid my own and he paid his. Why can't he as a gentlemen offer to pay for me first? it cost only a few bucks. This happen not only once but other incidents as well. Must i forgive him?

Well i am with him for almost 2 years and we are both working adults. I'm not saying that he has to open the car door for me, but on the paying part, he is just being calculative.

Hello. Guy here. Gentleman behavior is hardly ever used today, because no one is left to teach it. I am from an older world, at 42. We knew "Gentleman's Behavior" then. But women's liberation had come along [1970's], and 'gentleman' behavior was often seen as a way for men to look down upon women. So it got tossed aside, with few men to remember it. This is where you are speaking from now. That fellow you are with just dosen't even know the difference-how could he? Even though you feel you know what it is,(gentlemanly), never count on any man today sharing this view, and please don't shove it down their throats. It is a small sacrifice on your part, but it is something you can start to implant in your relationship as time passes.

My lady. I have pondered this question over and over for the past few years now. I sit and watch young men with young ladies these days and it is evident that the role of being a "gentleman" is slowly going by the wayside. And why not! Just take a step back and look at lifes role models of the day. Are they setting examples for the youth to follow the way that you would expect a gentleman to act? The nouns spouted out at a female now a days do not resemble what I would want my loving woman called! And ladies encourage it too! That's what really is sad. And it's not just the paying. It's the door opening, and the car door opening. I see less and less of that. With more emphisess on the rudeness by males. I see women using language that is not approiate around kids or adults alike. It is just the downfall of a generation, and don't expect it to get any better...although you can teach your children to be awsome little gentlemen and ladies in your time.

The problem between both of you is not just an ungentlemen issue. A couple together, the feeling must be mutual. In recent contact, no such thing as guy must pay for everythings during an outing, but being an "item", when settle the bill, either one will normally settle first, sometime the guy will pay, sometime the girl. Can you imagine a couple pay for each other meal in a restaurant?

Nowadays is there still gentleman behaviour in guy. I really doubt so. Nowadays guys think tt since ladies is able to work and support themselves, there is no need for this sort of behaviour.
Well I can say that not all guys are like this. maybe only a fraction of it.
Whether you are willing to forgive him or not, it don't make a difference. The main point is whether do u still love him. This is the main point.

Your byfrd must be respecting you as a modern independent woman, but it 's always hard to please a woman nowadays especially with all the women magazines advocating women 's rights and equalities, men never know when being gentlemen may be seen as being a male chavinist

I always pay whenever I am with any of my casual girlfriends. Am I a gentleman? First of all, is your boyfriend still studying or working? If he is still studying, then you cannot blame him for not paying cos he has limited finances. But if he is working, but does not pay for you, guess it's time for you to go another direction.

This is not ungentle-men, he afraid people thought he is a "ROBERT". Most important is that he is faithful, honest and sincere to you, this is just a small matter. let the case rest.

By your standards, a sugar daddy would make a true gentleman. Why don't you go find one.
