I HAVE A BUSH THAT GROWS FAST, LONG SHOOTS AND I THOUGHT THAT IF THEY WERE CUT AT SOME CERTAIN ANGLE IT WOULD PREVENT THAT SHOOT FROM GROWING BACK. PLEASE HELP, THANKS D.T.

Cut them off at an angle and paint with tar. It works great!

if you cut the shoots at an angle, when they grow back the new shoot will grow out to the side a little bit before curving up. Plants grow. If they aren't growing theyre dying. maybe you can look up information on taking cuttings so youll have more bushes.

No,it doesn't work like that .Give it some directional pruning by a passing gardener or torch it.
