That makes more sense.

Or what are your thoughts on two points per answer?

ya, ive thought of that as well...i mean...it sort of not fair to be losing 5 points for asking...it sucks in fact...so why not make up for at least a couple of points for answering. some of us are really trying to help others here, arent we? but maybe, yahoo doesnt do this so people wont post really stupid anwers just to get 2 extra points...some people already do...ryt? but i still heart yahoo! answers

i disagree. why do you think this portal is called Yahoo Answers and not Yahoo Questions?

of course points should be given to the answerer and not the questioner.

maybe if you feel that the current points system is harsh, you can suggest to Yahoo to reduce the number of points deducted for every question posted.

All the points come directly from Yahoo. I think that the best answer should get five points from the asker, and five from yahoo. Then you actually are 'giving' the points to the answerer.

i would agree with that! but also keep the 2points per question you answer. also i wish that sometime when you're picking a best answer. umm if there are like two really good ones that you could just give them both 5points other than choosing one and giving them 10points. cuz its hard choosing sometimes. you know?

Why would you want that...?! The current point system may not be good but your suggested point system sounds even worse! Oh well, we have to do of what we got or petition the system!
