Anyone feel you/people give alot on Y.A. (deep, detailed, helpful posts), but you/people don't quite do the same for the people in our actual day-to-day lives? Any answers? Anyone want to analyze that one for me? =) Just curious what the answers would be..... Thanks!

I try to be helpful in my everyday life as well, but it's easier here because i can sit back and do research before answering. I can chech my facts if I'm not absolutley sure. Can't do that in real life.
And if I have an additional thought I can edit it in later.... Also hard to do in real life.
I put just as much EFFORT into real life interactions, I just don't have the same luxury of time as I do here.

This is the way society is leaning, I'm affraid. Gone are the days when we could take a walk in the park, sit on a bench and chat with the people who pass by. Because these days they are either talking on a mobile, texting or listening to an i-pod.
People communicate more indirectly these days, making more like islands everyday instead of the united peoples we should be.
In about 10 years, we will probably cease to communicate at all.

Because most people in your daily life don't want to hear what you have to say, they just want a place to dump their garbage or at least vent out what is bothering them. Another thing if you are not in agreement with them then they feel like you are not on their side. But here on the other hand you can say what and how you feel. It really doesn't matter if the person really reads what your answer was to the question just that you were able to post an answer in the first place

I feel I am a very helpful person when my friends (guys or girls) have a problem they literally come straight to me.They're always asking for my advice,because they know I really do care and I'm going to really think and consider everyone in the situation from all sides including theres.I am a very open minded person to everyone including close minded people and I'm studying to be a psychologist, just cuz I like to talk about anything and I really understand cuz I've been thru hell from all the way back to my child hood,to my first love, and until now,and I always tell the truth and never hurt you feelings cuz I really do care.

I feel I give equal-quality thoughtful answers to people in person and on this website. I am certain it is consistent, I always feel the same way when answering questions in either place.

It is easier to GIVE advice than to ACTUALLY put into practice in our own lives.
When on here we can SEE things more clearly and calmly. When were are home and in the situation our judgment and vision are clouded.

It is easier to express yourself to a total stranger sometimes. We don't care how they judge us. It is easier for me to explain things online too because i can write it out, think it through, and don't get tounge twisted or interupted. And if the asker doesn't like the answer, well, we never have to talk to them again!

People feel much more comfortable talking to someone when they're not face to face. People don't like to admit they don't know something. YA allows you to do so anonymously, I think that's the appeal.

Generally because on here people are asking.. and expecting answers, in real life.. rarely when people want to know something do they ask.. or rarely do they really want to know what you think... they just want you to tell them what they think is right.
As for my close friends.. we do ask and answer eachothers questions.. it is wonderful!

i do ! i am a good listener to my friends, and will always be there to guide, or even only to listen, and sometimes get advice from them as well (when i need it)
i love people, and i love and care deeply for my close and loved ones
