we are looking for room (2 adults) which is half way on the drive, and do you need a car to get to the theme parks etc or is taxi/ bus travel easy and cheap. where is the best place to get a bargain holiday( web i expect but what site) anywhere to avoid?

Are you doing Disney? Then ONLY stay at a WDW resort. For a good price look into the value resorts at WDW. Every resort in disney is nice and very clean I have stayed off site twice, on site 4 times. I will never ever stay off site ever again. Too many hassles. Transportation from these hotel with their shuttle service is HORRID.
