My Acer Veriton 7100 hangs when it goes past the start mode. What could be the solution?

The caser and keyboard and processor do not respond to any action you take.It hangs virtually.

Reformat the herd drive and reload your operating system. This has happened to me before, usually after having the computer for a long time with no reformat.
