I dont have a problem getting along with anyone. However everyone in my town has at least everyone has tried pot or drank beer sometime because it is a small midwest town with nothing to do. Almost everyone i hang with has tried either one of the two and my mom is finding out now that they all do it. She says now that i can hang out with them and to find someone else but the problem is there is no one that can impress her. what should i do.

This is a tough situation since you and your mom has valid points.
I think you need to have a talk about trust. This issue is about trust and about peer education.
She fears you are going to be around bad influence and will start to do drugs like them. That is a valid point any parents has upon their children. I imagine if you have children, you would be the same way. You would want to protect them and try to keep them out of harm.
However, you need to have your "freedom" and be able to make mistakes. Be able to "get along" with the world regardless of their personal choices. Because they do these things doesn't mean you accept it. Just means you like the friendship, not what they do.
If your friends let say, steal *rob a store and you are present. Even though you did not steal anything. You still will be charged with accessory to the crime. So, your mom just wants to protect you. It is annoying and irritating at times. My mom did the EXACT thing for awhile.
Then I had a talk with her. I told her that if they do something wrong and ask me to do it, I will say no cuz I am smarter than that. My mom didn't raise no fool.
I also told her that I need to learn how to have good social skills to deal with public when I am older. Do you think a cop is going to learn about drugs, crime and how to deal with situations if he listened to his parents to stay away from those people? I don't think so. Do you think a business man is going to turn someone away because he "can't be around those people"? It doesn't make sense.
The more I could prove that I was making good choices, the easier she accepted it. I however made my own choice to seperate myself from those who did drugs and stuff all the time since it later affected the friendship I had with them.
Just keep talking to her about it and letting her get to know the people you hang with. What she could be hearing is not exactly what is true. I live in a small town, small town talks. but most of the talk is all lies and gossip.

Let her get to know your friends better by having them over to your house so she can see for herself that they aren't pot heads. Also make sure that she is out there with other teen parents so that she knows that this is a common problem with teens in your town. Ask her for her ideas on who you should be friends with. Try to take her suggestions seriously. My mother always had the strangest ideas about who I should be friends with but I would explain to her what these people were really like and she would listen because I had listened first. Put yourself out there a little by trusting the idea that she just wants what is best for you. She has a unique perspective because she is outside of your situation and knows things about you that even you don't realize. This is balanced by the things you know about yourself that you've never shared with her and the things you know about her that she doesn't see in herself.
Discuss what your future is and how your friends fit into it. One of my son's friends is just such a loser but we tolerate him because they have a great time together, don't do drugs, and talk about their business dreams of owning a bar and grill together some day. I think it's great they are planning for their future at least.

Nothing, really. Just go on with life, your mom is never going to approve on anybody only if he or she were an angel, and well lets face it there not much available. And besides sorry but, pot? Beer? Wow, what would you say when you hear what my mom has to say, I mean pot and beer is serious stuff unlike the situation I'm in....

i am 12 and drink and somke ciggerets i have a list of what i have drank:i have had bud light on 4th of july this year and many other times i have had vodca and lemonade i have had abstinth it is illegal in the us cuz it can cause blindness death and many other things i have had tacela and wine coolers with my 15 year old cousin and shots of liqued cocan that my 24 year old bro made for me i have also had shots of cherry cheese cake that he also made and kloua at my 26 year old cousin wedding and beer there witch was miller light and i have had ummm champain and alot more that i cant remember.My Bro Was Drunk when he made the drinks for me

actually mom will always be moms..in this case u can't proof much to her that ur freind are superbly in good attitude..but u can actually explain to her in a nice way that this are the friend who u can get along also tell her that you know & will choose which are the good & bad things and if u are in any trouble u will consult n get her advise before making any dicessions

like jus think bout this ur mom only wants the best for u not to have to get her child out if jail in the middle of the nite r u get so drunk u fall a sleep and die someone at ur age cant hadle it and yall age group ten to overdo it and end up in the grave r in the hospital till yall die bc if that fact u didnt listen to ur mom im 22 and i try wat u did but drinkin i dont even do it bc i no wat could happen my brother been in jail over nite 3 of times for fightin and while drunk and he also when to jail for dwi so u dont want o go down the wrong path jus listen to ur mombc ur mom only doin wats best

tell your mom to give you a chance to hang out with who you want to hang out with, and tell her to let you prove to her that no matter what everyone else is doing, you make your own decisions, and you need to be able to show her you can stay out of trouble no matter who you are with and she will trust you.
