When will you be able to take your family to Iraq for a vacation? When are you going to be able to bring the wife and kids to Baghdad and spend some time living it up with the locals? If everything is so peachy there, then how much longer until you would be willing to go there yourself, with your family?

There are a lot of countries that I wouldnt want to visit... Mostly deserts. I find hot and dry areas that rain dust is prutty sucky... Actually I really wouldnt want to visit a lot of places.

For the record though, I am not a Republican - I did not think going to war was justified.... at that same point, now that we are committed if we just back right out, then the country will completely destabilize... if you want to blame anyone for the problems in the middle east, blame the UK and their crazy lines for dividing up power... and creating the country division lines there... They put the minority in power (like in Rawanda) and now the majority that was oppressed is extremely pissed, and although Saddam was a bad man, he ruled with great efficiency when it came to dealing out terror... so people knew who to fear... If we slaughtered all the residents of a town because their family member rebelled things might be going quicker and smoother...

But then again, I would never have wanted to take my family to Irag... dont think, that syria, lebanon, jordan, Iran, or any of the other former "fertile crescent" is on my must visit list... and we aren'y (yet) at war with any of them...

unfortunately America walked into a pile of s..t by going into Iraq. Remember, the real reason we went into Iraq was not to bring them democracy but to destroy their weapons of mass destruction. We didn't find any because Saddam moved them out to Syria before we began our offensive. This is a fact of life. The Iraqis don't know what to do with a democracy and never will. They have been killing each other for many hundreds of years and will continue to do so. All are Muslims but the Sunnis hate the Shiites and visa-versa. If we pull out of Iraq as we will have to do someday soon, then Iran will walk in and then the world will be in deeper s..t!

I'm not sure what Republicans you've been listening to, but most who look at the war in Iraq don't think it's a "peachy" picture or anywhere close to being a safe zone.

However, that doesn't change whether or not you agree it was necessary or the right thing to do. It also has no effect on whether or not you think we're making progress.

How many times did YOU go to Iraq on vacation when Saddam, Uday and Qusay were running the show, since you obviously think that things were so much better back then?

Answer THAT one!

Im not saying its going well, but you can't say "why fix if it isn't broken" becasue i would not have brought my family to Iraq under the Bathist party...infact that last time I would have brought my family to Iraq would have been to visit the Akkadians in 2300 BC. So start helping make Iraq what it deserves to be, and stop complaining about what it is not.

WHERE NOT OVER THERE TO CREATE SOME MIRACLE, WE ARE OVER THERE TO ENSURE OUR SAFETY HERE IN THE STATES, AND SO THAT IRAQ CAN FUNCTION PROPERLY AND HUMANE. EVEN LONG BEFORE 9/11 I NEVER HEARD ANYONE DREAM OF GOING TO IRAQ FOR A VACATION. WHAT ARE PEOPLE GONNA DO LAY OUT IN THE SAND IN 120% WEATHER?!?!?!? WHATS FUN ABOUT THAT?

Just a matter of time. Things will eventually stabilize there just like they do all over the world eventually. Why so negative? Need to do a reality check.

Last time I checked those insane terrorist groups were still trying to kill American soldiers. Maybe if we eliminate the terrorists, we'll eliminate the problem. Isn't that the whole point of us being over there? Oh, and would you vacation there if we hadn't gone to war?? I highly doubt it!
