As a Catholic myself I can't understand why any one would say what he did. As an American I believe that every person has the right to live in peace & freedom.
I am shamed of my fallow Christian Catholic for what he said.
But here in America we have the right to voice our opinions drunk or sober.
Some people should not drink and others should not open their mouth. Gibson is just one of those that should do either without a scrip in front of him.

Mel Gibson is still da man! So he hates Jews, probably just the Hollywood ones who said they would fund Passion then screwed Mel and pulled the money. Aha, but didn't he win in the end when Passion made serious bank.

His dad is a strong anti-Semite. Mel would've grown up hearing all sorts of derogatory statements against Jews. Not that it's an excuse, but it's a reason nontheless. Imagine someone's own father preaching this stuff and a son only wanting to please him. I think we should try to educate him instead of alienate him which is what some ppl want to do. The best way to combat racism is through love, education and patience.

If you listen to the media every body hates every one and thier
is no love left in the world. So to find the real truth be hind the media hipe you should watch the 700 club or TBN the only real
thing the media wants you to hear is what they have to say.
A good apology is never heard but always turned away.

Mel Gibson is a crazy, racist, middle aged alcoholic, nothing more.
The only reason people care about what he says or does is that he is a talented actor and director. That makes him a celebrity,, not a god, or leader, or role model.

If he was say,,, a talented plumber,, would anyone care about his rantings? Would anyone care about his opinion?

Hmm.. why should he care about what you think ?? He is an individual and he should have the freedom to do what ever he pleases to do - as long as he doesn't break the law - the only offense he did was break the law - nothing wrong with having a drink occasionally... And what has Jesus or Israel had to do with this ?

Ye gods people, give the man a break. He's HUMAN. If we took every human at their drunken word, the entire planet would be nothing but the charred remains of a nuclear holocaust.

But you do know that he is not the only one right?
There are people out there that looks at people from their skin, their dress, their religion, even from their cleanliness.
And there are people who would do anything to spice up conflicts and add more anger to other people just to relieve their own troubles.
Some people just can't wait to be on the first page.

Gibson is Catholic, and I think it's a secret or repressed Catholic thing. I had a Catholic friend that blamed Jews for killing Jesus. I didn't really get it.
