The confederate flag, unfortunately, has been used by the Klu Klux Klan and white supremacist groups. This has tainted the flag's heritage. The flag originally represented the South and its separation from the union and had nothing to do with slavery. Since the separation of the Southern states from the Union was about states rights and not slavery. See the link below for more detailed history of the flag.

I've lived in the South for all my life, never been up north, but for me it's pride and family history as well, not prejudice. But, that's not the case for everyone. Seems like a lot of prejudice out there, too.

I come from the South and the Southern flag was a symbol of its seperation from the union back in the civil war days and it had NOTHING to do with slavery. People are so stupid. Is the Christian flag antisemetic?

History, plain and simple.
Nobody complains about slave paraphernalia being displayed in museums, even though it's very clear what it represents, because it's history.
The hullabaloo over the flag is overblown both by those who fly it and by those who object to it.
